Community Tables

Schenectady Greenmarket offers free space to local community groups, nonprofits, schools, and organizations who want to share their knowledge, creativity, and services with our weekly market visitors. This is a great opportunity to promote your organization and connect directly with the Schenectady community. Groups are welcome to host cooking demonstrations, lead kids’ activities, teach crafts, share gardening expertise, preview upcoming performances, or simply talk with shoppers about the work you do.

To learn more or to schedule a community table, please contact sgcommunityoutreach@gmail.com or fill out the form below. It is FREE to participate

Rules for All Community Tables

Community tables cannot sell merchandise.

  1. Donations, event ticket sales, and raffle tickets may be allowed only on behalf of 501(c)(3) organizations or similar nonprofits.

  2. Free gifts, prizes, or giveaways in exchange for donations are permitted but must be approved by the market in advance.

  3. Organizations may not offer anything—free or paid—that directly competes with market vendors.

  4. If you need to cancel, please notify us as soon as possible.

  5. Arrival time is 9:00 AM, and all groups must stay until the market closes at 2:00 PM.

  6. All signage and displays must be family-friendly; no vulgar language or disturbing imagery.

  7. At the indoor market, space can be limited. Please set up within the assigned area provided by the Market Manager.

  8. No proselytizing. The market is a non-partisan, secular space. Faith-based groups promoting a project are welcome, but praying, preaching, or evangelizing at the market is not permitted.

  9. No hawking. Community organizations may not call out to shoppers, walk around distributing flyers, gather petition signatures, or solicit in the aisles. All engagement should happen naturally at your table.

What we provide:

• A designated space inside Proctors with a table and chairs.

• Promotion in our weekly “What’s Fresh?” email newsletter and on our website when you provide a logo, photo, or short informational blurb in advance.
