Together, we are a community.

Who We Are

Our mission: As a regional farmers market, we are an integral part of Schenectady’s cultural landscape, connecting farm and city to create a resilient, equitable and sustainable food system.

We are committed to creating and maintaining a diverse marketplace that is accessible for all community members with vendors who reflect the diverse cultures and experiences of our surrounding communities.

We collaborate with community partners to educate ourselves and community about farmers, healthy food and food access.

Our History

Since 2008, Schenectady Greenmarket has been a place to buy fresh local produce and artisan goods in a festive community atmosphere. The market includes over 60 diverse vendors and offers our shoppers the best of local produce, prepared foods, and crafts.

Every week, vendors donate bushels of beautiful, fresh produce, artisan bread and eggs to City Mission of Schenectady.

Parking

Free parking for the Schenectady Greenmarket is conveniently available within walking distance of both City Hall and Proctors, including the Broadway parking garage and six nearby surface lots. All parking areas offer handicap-accessible options for shoppers.

Please note: On Sundays when Proctors hosts a performance, the lot directly behind Proctors (Clinton South Lot) will begin charging a parking fee. Schenectady Greenmarket customers may park in this lot for free until 11 AM, after which standard parking rates apply.

  • Keep dogs under control and at your side, away from produce, plants, prepared foods, and other shoppers.

  • Aggressive, anxious, or untrained dogs should not attend the market.

  • Owners are required to clean up after their dogs.

  • Market management may ask any owner to remove a dog showing aggressive, loud, or disruptive behavior.

PLEASE NOTE: For Winter Market at Proctors, only service animals are permitted indoors per Proctors’ policy.
